AYSO Age Chart
HOW TO READ THE AYSO AGE CHART
The effective date of age determination for registration is the player's age as of December 31 of the calendar year.
- Using the row across the top, choose the year (the current soccer year will always be Column 1)
- Using the left column, select the Birth Year of your player(s)
- The result will show you the division your player is eligible for, as well as the actual age of the players
Understanding the "U" in the Division Name
Reading the division name can get confusing. The way the division names are written and the way they are read are completely different. For example, in the chart below, we have the division name written such as 10U. The letter "U" means Under. By looking at the division name, one would think to read it as "10 and Under" meaning players that are age 10 are included in this division. However, that is incorrect. The proper way to read the division name, such as 10U is "Under 10" which actually does not include players 10 years of age; but rather under 10 years of age. As a result, the Age Chart below not only will give you the division name, but it also lists the actual age of each player in that particular division.
